Testimony
I was raised in a single-parent home on the island of Antigua. My mother knew of God, as she made a point of sending me to church and Sunday school, but she did not have a personal relationship with Him. It wasn’t until the age of 17 that I came to know the Lord. During those teen years at church, I met my wife Marcelle. Two years into our relationship, she moved to Canada. We continued our relationship long-distance, and after five years of courtship, I joined her in Canada, and we got married.
I knew that God had called me to ministry, but I used any excuse possible to get out of it. My excuses were either that I needed time to get myself sorted out in my new country, or later, when our children arrived, that I needed to continue working to support my family and didn’t have enough time or money to go to Bible College. To pacify the call that God had placed in my heart, I decided in 1992 to start a yearly outreach ministry in my district back home in Antigua. As wonderful as that was, it still did not quell the desire that God had placed in my heart for full-time ministry.
In 1996, I started taking part-time courses at Canada Christian College in Toronto. In 2002, I earned a certificate as a licensed evangelist, and in June 2003, I earned my certificate of ordination as an ordained pastor. In 2004, I became the Associate Pastor at my home church. In February 2007, the Lord led my wife Marcelle and me to start the Integrity Worship (IWC) ministry in the Flemingdon Park community of Toronto, where I give leadership as Pastor and Marcelle as the Bible Class teacher. There is much work to be done in the very diverse community in which we serve, but we are trusting the Lord to guide us.
God has been patient with me. He has shown me time and time again His incredible compassion, and as I have learned to trust Him more and more, my life has been blessed in amazing ways. My desire is to serve Him faithfully and to walk worthy of His call in my life.
